This past Sunday was Mother’s Day. Every year I am reminded how
lucky I am to have an amazing Mama. She is one of the most talented women I
know. All women are talented at one thing or another. What most of us have in
common is that we are very talented at worrying.
This is a chair that sits in the waiting room at Cornerstone
Clinic for Women.
Just a chair in a waiting room.
Women who sit in this chair worry. They worry about the Pap
test they are about to take. They worry about the results of tests they are
about to receive. They worry about the baby they are carrying. They worry. They
worry. They worry.
As I was sitting in the waiting room today waiting to get my
blood drained once again, I began to think about all the circumstances women
wait in this room sitting on this chair.
- Cervical cancer screenings
- Breast cancer screenings
- STD testing
- Birth control
- Infertility testing
- Pregnancy testing
- Ultrasounds
- Prenatal visits
Whether joyful or heartbreaking, this room and this chair are
filled with worry. The best part of this room is that questions can be
answered. Sooner or later. But without taking the step inside this waiting room
and sitting on this chair, your health concerns and questions will not be
answered… and your worry will not be relieved.
